It has been so long since I've updated anything about our life, it is too overwhelming to even try. Mac is growing up way too fast. He amazes me every day. One word to describe my little sweetheart is persistent. He is my little sports pro, he makes sure he practices basketball, soccer, baseball, bike riding, his scooter, golf, and anything else that has to do with balls for hours everyday. It is so fun to watch him push himself. He calls himself "Jimmer" as in Jimmer Fredette. He sings" Peanut Butter Mac-er time, peanut butter Mac-er" its hilarious! He is our little Cougar, any time he is acting up all we have to say is "Mac cougars don't wine" and he will stop!

A couple of weeks ago we went on a road trip to Susanville California, where Ian is from. Mac did such a good job on his 9 -11 hour drive.
We took Mac golfing on his very first golf course, the same golf course that Ian played on everyday when he was in high school. He loved it, and did a pretty good job for a 2 1/2 year old. Here he is on hole #9 with Grandpa Ian, Ian, and Ian's little brother James.

What a big surprise this was! I thought for sure it was going to be another boy because I feel the exact same and I had heard that you usually feel different with girls. I am really excited but actually really nervous, I have always considered myself to be a boy mom seeing that I grew up with all boys. Its going to be an adventure!

I think Mac is finally starting to realize whats in moms belly. For a while there he would ask me if there was a basketball in there which was really funny. Then when I would ask him if he wanted a baby sister or a baby brother he would tell me he wanted a baby puppy dog, and for a while he would ask if the baby puppy dog was in my belly. Then after that when I would ask him if he wanted a brother or a sister he would tell me he wanted the baby to be baby Ryder (which is one of his cousins that he loves), and once he said it was my grandpa, Grandpa George. He is such a little character. But needless to say it has been a process. Lately when we give him a choice of girl names he constantly picks the same one every time, so I think it is starting to sink in a little. All I know is this baby is going to rock his little world!

The news is out! We are expecting again!

It has been a long time since I have last posted, my only excuse is I am way to busy with my little Mac to even look at my blog anymore. How in the world am I going to get anything done with two? All I can say is you moms out there that have all these kids are amazing.

I am 17 weeks, and my due date is July 23rd, my worst nightmare, being large and in charge in the dead of summer. Good thing my parents have a pool!

I just needed to take a mommy bragging moment and tell everyone about my kid genious. We just went to his 18 month checkup last monday and while the doctor was checking him out Mac was eating grapes. The doctor made a comment like wow he's eating grapes, most kids his age are only snaking on Chicken nuggets and Macaroni and Cheese. Mac immediately said "Macaroni and Cheese" just copying what he heard, and the doctor was shocked, and asked, "did he just say that?" I thought nothing of it because Mac has been talking for months now, and now he has recently been saying 4-5 word sentences. Its pretty amazing I guess because the doctor went on to say that babies his age are likely to be only have 6-10 words in their vocabulary. I had read that on baby center, a website I check to see the little milestones babies should be making at certain ages, but I figured they were underexaggerating to make some moms feels better. Anyways on the way out of the room the doctor said, "see ya later the smartest 18 month old I have seen in many many years". I was so proud. Then yesterday Mac was sitting on the Potty. This is where we have some pretty good conversations, because I have Mac's full attention, and I asked him to count and to my surprise he counted all the way to 11, missing number 7 and 8 but still thats pretty amazing. Anyways I am just proud of my little guy and wanted to share.

Mac Skiing

Mac skied for the first time up at our annual Snowbasin ski trip. He did awesome, especially for only being 17 months. I know its a little early to already be putting him up on skiis because his legs aren't really strong enough to hold himself up on his own, but we figured why not let him at least experience the thrill. The first day he rode up on the ski lift with his skiis on and everything, it is a snowbasin rule that the child can't go up the lift unless he has his own skiis on. We were a little nervous about it but he did great. He kept saying "lift" and "sky" the whole ride up, it was so cute. His first run he only went about 15 feet because I got a little anxious and told his to stand up. When Mac gets clingy, which is quite often lately, I try to set him down so I don't have to carry him all day, and I ususally say "Stand up" which usually makes him upset because he wants me to carry him. Well when I said "stand up" on the ski slope I think he related to me setting him down to walk on his own, and at that time he didn't want me leaving him so it made him scared and he retracted his legs which made his foot come out of his boot because the boots were way too big. After that we couldn't get his boots on so we decided that we probably shouldn't push it and to give it another go the next day. The next day went 100x better. First of all I learned my lesson the first day, so I didn't make the mistake of telling Mac to "stand up" and I just let him do his thing. And second we went up with his friend Anna who is 3 and who just learned to ski on her own. Mac loves Anna and wants to be just like her so it was good for him to watch her. He skied two full runs, one after the other! It was so awesome, and he loved every minute of it. After that he kept saying "We're skiers" It was so cute!

Its been a while since I've updated my blog and lots has happened since I have. So this is whats been going on in our simple lives.

On halloween the hulk came to visit our house, it was pretty scary!
We had our annual limbo contest- This year I can proudly say that I took first prize at a wopping 28 inches! Beat that Liza!
I went out to lunch with some of my very best girlfriends who I never ever see.

Mac experienced what snow feels like. One of his new favorite words to say now is "snow"

My brother cody and my sister in law Liza and their kids came to visit for Thanksgiving. While they were here we had the kids each decorate their own cake.

Liza and I were jealous because we wanted to do a cake of our own, so we took what was left over which was red fondant, yellow fondant and gumpaste, and we put our heads together and got as creative as we could. This is what we came up with! It was tons of fun!

Oh this is Pat- I just wanted to show how amazingly flexible his nose is. Seriously it feels like it is made of rubber!

We got together with some of our family friends the Featherstones for our annual dinner, and flaming snowballs. If you look closely you will be able to see our annual picture that we take with them. (we always tape up our noses so we have pig noses- don't ask me why)

This year the guys did the polar bear plunge. These are the champs who did it!

The water in the polar bear plunge was 40 degrees! Ian and I didn't participate this night, but we both did the polar bear plung the night before. I tried to be the hero and tried to climb the rock wall, once I got half way up my body was shaking so bad and I could barely breath. So needless to say I didn't make it all the way up!

We went to the Jazz Game the night that they played Oklahoma City Thunder With Cody and Liza, and Heath and his date. We sat up in the nose bleeders. But for 3 dollar tickets, we'll take it.

His favorite animals were the elephants because there was a momma and a baby elephant. He kept saying bebe and momma, and making elephant noises. I know what you're thinking, what noise does a elephant do? Believe me Mac makes an awesome one.

We went to Trans Siberian Orchestra concert with the crew as a pre Christmas gift from Toni and Scott, Thanks again!

It rocked!!!

Last but not least I bowled the only Turkey (which is three strikes in a row) and won the money pot at our annual family Turkey bowl. My score is the L- my second highest bowling score ever. The best part about it is I beat all of the guys!

I know what your thinking..."They have the cutest baby in the world"...well at least we think we do. And your also probably thinking that Mac had to be such a little angel to get so many great pictures of him, well if you can imagine a little curious ball of energy wanting to get into everything he sees, you have Mac! I have no idea how my cousin Katie was able to capture so many great pictures because he was running everywhere, and seriously getting into everything. I kept telling her how impossible I thought it seemed it would be to be a photographer, because Mac was not cooperating (and seriously what little 1 year old does when there is a big black camera in your face) But I guess this goes to show how great a photographer Katie is, these aren't even all of them, I had so many to choose from. Thanks again Katie! We love them!

Ok I have to explain because I finally have a knew hobby and a knew passion. I am totally obsessed with all the cake shows on TV, and I think I've got Ian pretty hooked as well. But I had to try one out for myself so this is my masterpiece. I know its not much but seeing that I am not very creative or crafty at all I was pretty proud of myself.

This is me making the cake the day before the party. It took me like 14 hours! I know pathetic but I loved every minute of it accept I was so sad because I missed my little cheer reunion because of it.

Can you believe it, my parents got a pool! And it is amazing if I do say so myself! Ian, Mac, and I are never going to move now! Ha Ha Ha! Wednesday night the pool finally got finished. We have been so anxious to swim so we started to add water with a firehose that night around eight o'clock. It took about four hours to fill and at 1:30 a.m. we all decided that the pool needed to be christened. So we got our suits on, every one but sissy Toni (who went and got the dry suit on), and we all went for a dip in the 52 degree water. It was freezing, but well worth the memories.

Oh ya, our poor neighbors who have had to put up with all the construction going on had to come over the night of the Christening to tell us to shut up. So while we jumped in we had to make sure we made as little noise as possible. It was so hard to not scream because it was freezing.

Busy weekend

It was a busy weekend full of fun! To start off Ian, Mac and I went up the canyon to enjoy the scenery and to just get away. As you can see in Mac's little mug he thought it was awesome.

Then Mac and I went to the Discovery Gardens at Thanksgiving Point with all the cousins. This is in the bear cave with Kelsee and Baya (Amy's daughter)

Trip to Pittsburg

This last weekend we went to the great state of Pennsylvania to visit Cody, Eliza, Sawyer, Ryder, and Nash. It was so fun to get away, and so good to see those guys. Toni and I stayed for ten days and Ian and Scott stayed for 5. It was the first time Ian and I had been apart since we have gotten married. It was weird to be apart, I agree with the saying "absence makes your heart grow fonder" and Mac agrees too. The minute we stepped off the plane Mac clung to his daddy and would not let go until he went to bed that night. It was so sweet!

Mac experienced alot of firsts this trip, this was his first time flying. As you can see he loved it.

This weekend we went to Colter Bay for a family reunion with the Whipperman side of the family. It was so much fun, we decided we definately need to spend more time there the next time we go because there is so much to do and so much to see. It has been so fun, Cody, Eliza, and the kids came to visit for a few weeks. So we have basically been doing whatever we want to do. Yesterday we went boating but our boat broke down the minute we got out to the middle of the lake, so we had to get towed in by a ranger. Of course he had to find something wrong with what we were doing so he could right us a ticket. So for the second time in a row, with the exact same ranger we got the same exact ticket.

It was Mac's first fourth of July, so we went all out and made sure he got the full experience. First we went to the annual Granite parade. I have been in this parade ever since I was his age. Then we went to a swim party at the Schmidts house. Then we had a BBQ up at the romeros, Mac was so tuckered out by this time, we didn't make it to fireworks. Maybe next year!

Mac loves to cruise around the house in his walker. He can manuever that thing which ever way he wants to go. It is so funny to watch. This particular day I heards all of this banging in the laundry room. My cute little stinker discovered something fun to do. Now I often find him in this room several times a day.

Mac has discovered his little voice. It is so funny to listen to. Recently he has been screaming at the top of his lungs for joy. Its hilarious.

It was so funny, the day that Mac discovered this game he was sitting there playing by himself with his toys and Ian was laying on the ground beside him. Ian starting throwing the football up, not knowing that Mac was even watching him, when all the sudden he heard a huge belly giggle from across the way. Mac for some reason thought it was hilarious that the ball went up and then came back down. He still loves playing this game with daddy and we get the same reaction everytime. Aren't babies fun?

Its been so long since I have updated my blog, I don't even know where to begin. Mac is growing up so fast. I can't believe he is already going to be eight months next week. Each day is so fun to see what Mac will learn to do next- he amazes me everyday, and he is such a joy in mine and Ian's life.

Every week Ian plays softball with his amazing team panthers- I think they have won maybe one game so far...so yeah not the best team on the block, but we love to go and support and cross our fingers that maybe this week we will get lucky and win. Win or lose-Mac's daddy is his hero.

Ian was so mad when I put this robe on Mac. He said his little boy looked like a chick. I couldn't resist, it was so cute. Plus since Mac is growing so fast I had to put him in this before he wouldn't fit in it at all. It was funny though- his feet were hanging out of his slippers like three inches.

Mac's new favorite thing is to go swimming. He would stay in the pool all day if he could.

This is Mac eating prunes for the first time. He loved them, which is good because it is necessary in his diet to keep him regular.

Shave and a haircut

As you can see Mac really needed a haircut, Ian wouldn't let me cut it for the longest time because he wanted to be able to save Mac's first lock of hair...Mac was really starting to get an awesome comb over and a mullet, and as much as I loved his look sadly it needed to go.

I don't really know why but ever since my first cousin got married it has been a family tradition for everyone in my family and whoever else wants to join in drink a goldfish at each wedding reception. We have now done this silly tradition at 9 different wedding receptions. Ian and I kept the traditon at ours and Ian just about lost his lunch... So now he is completley opposed to joining in this disgusting tradition now that he has worked his way into the family.

Mac's tramatic experience

On thursday Mac went to his Auntie Katie's for his second photoshoot! She does such an amazing job, she captures the most perfect little shots of Mac. Well as we were doing the shoot Mac was pretty fussy throughout the whole thing so it is amazing that Katie got such great pictures. We had to get pretty creative with the poses because Mac was not enjoying the fur in his face. So we decided to put the rug on top of me while I held Mac on my lap (so I could be the background while his grandma Toni and Katie were trying to get him to look at the camera). Meanwhile Katie was getting the cutest shots the camera cord got wrapped up and it pulled the huge studio light down on top of us. Luckily it is made out of material so its not heavy at all. But all three of us jumped and made surprised faces. This upset Mac so bad, he started screaming at the top of his lungs and nothing would calm him down. Eventually like 45 minutes later he wore himself out and cried himself to sleep, he was whimpering while he was sleeping. It was so sad. He still will wake up screaming every so often, it is like he is dreaming about the scary thing that fell on top of us. Needless to say I think that this was very very good birth control for Katie, it probably scared her out of having kids for a while. Thanks again Katie for everything! You are the best.

How it happened!

Last tuesday I went to my doctors appointment very eager to hear if I had dilated at all so that they could induce me asap. I was sure that I had because I had been trying every trick in the book and lets be honest I wasn't the tiniest pregnany women you have ever seen. Come to find out that I hadn't dilated at all so...Of course since I have all of these extra hormones and I am very emotional I started bawling in the docs office. I think this actually helped and it softened his heart. He sent me to go get an emergency ultrasound that day and told me that if Mac was in the 6 pound range I could wait a week and half (or until I was 41) because this is when they could give me the drug to give me contractions to help induce my labor. Or if I was more in the 9-10 pound range we could do a C-Section. Both sounded awful but what can you do. So we went to our ultrasound at 1 p.m. and found out that Mac was supposedly 8 lbs. 9 oz.! We decided that we needed to do an ultrasound since he was only going get bigger. A nurse called me soon after that and asked me when we wanted to do an ultrasound. I jokingly told her today! She said that that probably wasn't a possiblity and that it would most likely be monday but that she would check with the doctor. This is where I think my tears helped me earlier that day at my appointment. She called me back and said be here by 5:30 you will have your baby around 7 or 8. I was shoked and didn't know what to think. We went in and I had Mac by 7:53. Everything went so perfect... He was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. The doc told me we made a good decision because there was no way that his honking noggin would have fit through the birth canal. All I can say is I am just happy he is here. He has already brought so much joy into our lives. I can't believe how much I love the little tike!

Friday Morning I had my version appointment to turn my baby. After they got me hooked up to all the monitors and confirmed by ultrasound that Mac was definately still breech the nurse came in to tell me that my Doctor was in an emergency surgury and that later he had to go to a family wedding. I had been anticipating this moment for too long and I couldn't wait another day so we rescheduled for 2:00 that same day. This was probably a blessing b/c my stomach was so empty (because they don't let you eat just in case I had to have an emergency C-section) that there was probably more room for MacIver to turn.
After they gave me the shot to relax my uterus I thought I was going to die. My heart started racing, I broke out in a hot sweat, and I immediately could not breathe. I felt as though I was having an anxiety attack and hyperventalating at the same time. But I guess this took my focus off the pain of turning the baby. It still was very painful but I was less concerned about the pain and more concerned that I wasn't going to die. The doctor grabbed Mac's head and in 4 quick turns he was able to turn him back to the right position in under a minute. He said this was his quickest version he has ever done. It went so well. We are so glad our little boy is safe and as healthy as can be.

Thursday Lauren threw a little cheer baby shower for me! It was so good to see everyone and catch up. I love seeing my old friends, it is so crazy how fast life changes. It feels like yesterday when we were all on the sidelines together at Lavell Edwards Stadium.

Thanks again for your cute gifts. I can't wait to dress the little guy up.

Decisions...Decisions

So yesterday I had my doctors appointment. Yep- Mac is still breech! The doctor got the results back from my ultrasound... He said that Mac is in the 90th percentile for being huge. Probably weighing in at a little more than 8 lbs already. I told Ian this is all his fault. Can you imagine little me producing such a huge baby. All I can say is his little cheeks are going to be extra fun to squeeze. I have an appointment scheduled Friday to turn the little guy which might put me into labor. I am still trying to decide whether I am going to show up for that appointment or just have a C-section in a week and a half. Hmmm? Both sound like alot of fun!

Baby update...

I am now 36 1/2 weeks along and the baby is still breech. So I had to get an ultrasound to determine the positioning of the baby. He is butt down and feet an head up. The doctor told me that we will need to schedule a version, which is when the doctor will manipulate my belly from the outside and try to manually turn the baby. He said that this is usually more painful that actual labor itself. There is only a 75% chance that MacIver will actually turn and stay turned. They will have to give me a shot to relax my uterous, however there is a small chance that if my uterous happens to contract while they are turning the baby, and the baby is in a bad position then it could break his bones. So of course I am very nervous! During the ultrasound we found out that Mac is already 7 lbs. 8 ounces. (give or take a pound each way). My doctor just about freaked out when he found out how big he was (it is probably from all those protein shakes Mac's been drinking) But the doctor said that I most likely won't be able to give birth to a baby over

7 1/2 lbs unless I had a C-section. All of this was just the greatest news! I guess we will just have to hope for the best. Keep us in your prayers, and if any of you have any wives tales for me to try to turn a breech baby I am open to suggestions.

50's Night

Last night Ian and I did our own date night. It was so fun because it seems like we haven't gone out just the two of us in a long time. We did our own 50's night. We went to Ruth's diner, a cute little cafe up emigration canyon. Then we went and got Nelson's frozen custard. Sooo good!

7 weeks and counting

Everyone has been trying to talk me into doing those naked belly pictures of me being pregnant, all I have to say is this is the closest thing you are going to get. Today I am 33 weeks along. Oh my I can't believe I still have 7 weeks left. I am betting that I really only have 5 because at my doctors appointment on tuesday my belly was measuring 1 1/2 cm bigger than what it should be. That was surprising because at 29 1/2 weeks I was measuring 28 cm. Now at 32 1/2 weeks I measured 34 cm. He grew 6 freaking cm! He better slow down because I am already about to pop! He is still breech, my doctor says he is a "butthead" (get it?). So hopefully he turns real soon. Obviously Maciver is a little stubborn, don't ya think?

Marathon Training

Ian has been training for a marathon! It is a miracle, because this kid hates running, and I didn't even coerce him into it. He is now up to 16 miles, but I think he has a stress fracture in his leg so we will see if he will be able to make the 26 miles. He says he'll limp in to the finish line if he has to because "He is never running a marathon again". We will just have to see about that! The big day is October 4, it is coming up. So we are going to have to take a trip down to St. George to watch the miracel come to pass. That is if the baby doesn't come first. What would we do?

Eliza and the kids were able to come and stay with us for about a month this summer. It was a blast. While they were here we were able to go to Lake Powell and Jackson Hole. While we were in Jackson we decided to mess with Grandma Ruth. After a little persuasion, we were able to talk Eliza into whipping out her Bikini in front of Grandma Ruth and rub her belly and ask Grandma for some sunscreen so she didn't burn her belly. Needless to say she got a good reaction from Grandma! But doesn't Liza look like a hot pregnant mama! (Eliza don't kill me for posting these pics, I had to, they are just too priceless... oh and I am not taking the blame for the bikini this time. Eliza is the owner of this bikini too!)

The Romero Gals threw me the best baby shower! Look at the diaper cake Whitney made, isn't she talented? Mandy made Ian his very own BYU burp cloth and diaper changer. Maciver will learn from a very young age that that he is a true blue fan!

Ian and I found out we were pregnant on February 14, the same day as my sister in law Eliza! Turns out we are going to have our babies a week and a half apart. That is if everything goes to plans. Eliza is due October 13, and I am due October 24!Most likely my mom is going to miss both of out deliveries. She is flying to Pennsylvania to see Eliza on October 2 until October 9, hopefully I don't go too early! Or she might miss us both! Today I am 32 weeks, only 8 more weeks to go! Hopefully it won't even be that long because I am getting large and in charge. Ian's family has a history of big babies. His grandpa was 12 pounds, and his dad was 9 pounds a month and a half early! Yikes!

Ian and I got married on June 15, 2007. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Although we did have a few memorable experiences in which we will never forget. When we arrived to our hotel that night, Ian had me wait outside the door so he could carry me over the threshhold. For some reason when he tried to open the door to our hotel room it wouldn't work for quit some time. Finally he got it open, and as he opened the door there was a strange women and her husband in our room. The women started to cuss us out, wondering why we were trying to break into her room, but it didn't register to her that it was our honeymoon night, and the last thing that we wanted to do was spend that night with her. So Ian just stood there in his tux, and me in my gown and we took a verbal beating from her. Luckily we left at four the next morning so we escaped another awkward moment.
